The Escape!

From the Week: Friday night; hopped over to Emerybay to watch One Hour Photo (some of us enjoyed it more than others); slid over Thalassa's, bumped into high-school friends (Jeannie and her whole freakin' posse!). Saturday; more D2, went to Japantown (hmm, there seem to be some sort of nightlife going on around those parts), drove semi-aimlessly around Twin Peaks. Sunday; Alice's Now & Zen Fest 2002 (the crowd was too mellow, boo).

From Computer Science: Wednesday; I decided to not major in Computer Science. Perhaps I'll add this and reasons and such to my spiel someday. :)

Post-Hawaii, Part Deux

Ah, finally, the pictures are here!

It's been a while, so excuse me for being abrupt.

Well, let's see... I was in Honolulu for three days, and, us being the good tourists that we are, we visited the U.S.S. Arizona. I also went to the Polynesian Cultural Center on the other side of Oahu, where I learned oodles about the various cultures (Sumerians rock!); also, I got to throw spears and (attempt to) juggle poi balls. Oh, yes, and we visited the beach a few times and did a little shopping.

Then, it was time to hop over to the airport for an inter-island flight to Maui; I suggested catapulting people between islands would be much more efficient, but I guess no one else liked the idea.

We established ourselves at a resort, and I quickly held camp at the beach with my copy of Wild Sheep Chase.

At Maui, I got to see some mucho impressive panoramics, many of which I was able to pose with that overused hang-loose gesture. Of course, there was just some general random silliness, including putting my arms through my shorts. Mainly, it was a lot of sitting on the beach, driving around to see rocks and more rocks, and posing for pictures.

All-in-all, it was a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, that was a month ago. :)

Various Stuff and Things

Don't get the Sourdough Burger at Burger King: the bun is freakin' drenched in oil. That defeats the purpose of the bun: to keep the hands clean of the gook from the meat/sauces; as one of my friends put it quite gracefully, "it's like an edible wrapper."

Went to the #20 A's game. Increbidle game! My throat was sore for a few days afterwards.

I saw Mulholland Drive. It's not confusing if you're able to move the timeline around (think Memento). Also, the blue key!

I also saw Bourne Identity. I'm a fan of Matt Damon (and Ben Affleck has no hair). I liked the "body surfing" near the end. :)

This past sunday, I went to the showing of Surprise Party at KIMA's Korean Film Festival in Berkeley. Hehe, bubbly goody-2-shoes romantic comedy.

I'm working on getting those Hawaii pics up, you bastards! It's difficult when Japanese continues to assu kikku shite imasu!!

Updates, Por Favor

So, it has come to pass that I have once again slipped into the evil which is video games--more specifically: Diablo II. I'm tired. My fingers hurt. My back doesn't feel comfortable when I sit upright. My eyes are dry. I'm hungry. I'm thirsty. My hands are sweaty. And people are pining for an update once more!

Well, all I can say is that my Barb is now Level 16, and I haven't read a page of Kavalier and Clay nor Catch-22 for quite some time now. In fact, I haven't done my obligatory academia work for the weekend either! Oh, blessid is he who is cursed by Diablo!

Oh, and a Happy Labor Day to all those of you laboring out there: you need it. Now, go out there and make this country some money!
