Post-Hawaii, Part I

Wondering why there hasn't been a recent update? I've been out of town the past 9 days, sitting on some beach or other in Hawaii.

I got sunburnt. :( But I finished Murakami's Wild Sheep Chase! :D

Anyhow, I have not the motivation to say more; so, until another time, when I'll post (what you all love) pics and spout out a few bits of nonsense here and there.

The Prodigy Strikes Again

I don't profess to be a memory maven--not by a longshot--so Saturday night, when some folks and I were supposed to be going to the Punchline, I made a ruthless mistake and brought us to Cobb's instead. *cough* *cough* *wheeze*

But that's enough laughter about me. :)

We saw Sarah Silverman whip out jokes about Jews and chinks. I didn't find her humor that hilariously belly-laugh funny--however there was a certain Humpty-Dumpty joke about having sex with poop that tickled me good. For the most part, though, it was TV sitcom "applause and laugh" funny.

Following that, we stumbled into some ludicrously pricey diner. Already within the clutches of their evil etiquette empire, the question of standing up and walking out was in the air. Well, let's just say that we had some pretty freakin' expensive onion rings and fries (but that's not as bad as a $20 baked potato I once had at Universal Studio).

And Monday evening, I was hittin' the greens at Tilden again for another half-round of golf; I have yet to get any par. :P

Tennis, Coffee, Food, and Fun

Greetings, kids and cats!

Did you know that there's a Georgia in the former Soviet Union? After my tennis match yesterday--well, that is, when my friend and I were getting booted off the court by a tennis coach--I met the friendly coach, and he was telling me about this Georgia in southern Russia. He had a "southern accent" too. :)

Today, I had my second Di Bartolo visit, and lo' and behold, one of the barristas recognized me: she was reading a print-out of some of Beau Sia's poetry. A bit of slammin' culture for me. Also, there was a humorous character who was easily entertained by his newspaper.

For dinner, I decided that I'd entertain myself with another new venue, so a friend and I sampled Milano. I had the Calzone Primavera, which was good except for the overuse of olives. And she had a nice eggplant entree with a name that escapes me.

We later stepped over to Espresso Roma (just down the street from the Nut House, I might add!) for chocolatey goodness. Nice atmosphere.

And what of tomorrow? Well, tomorrow is another day (of adventures!): dim sum, warming houses, and Voltron power! Who says Kavalier and Clay could have all the fun? :)
